Bridgerton isn’t short of steamy scenes, as every lead character has a moment to get hot and heavy underneath the sheets (or inside a carriage).

Also, a half-inflated netball is typically placed between the actors during intimate scenes, which prevents physical contact while supporting rhythmic movement.

6. Queen Charlotte’s Sniffing is a Historical Detail

Queen Charlotte’s character is inspired by Sophia Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, who served as Queen of Great Britain and Ireland after marrying King George III in 1761.
In addition to serving as queen for 57 years, the Queen developed a reputation for her addiction to ground tobacco, known as snuff. As a result, she was nicknamed “Snuffy Charlotte.”
It inspired Bridgerton‘s Queen Charlotte’s sniffing habit. Golda Rosheuvel, who play the monarch, told Today that she doesn’t use real tobacco on set, as it is a form of sugar and stated she often experiences a “wild sugar rush” after a long day of filming.

However, the showrunners changed her name to Sophie Baek in season four of Bridgerton to reflect Yerin Ha’s Korean heritage.
Yerin reportedly chose the surname and believed Baek was a fitting alternative for the character, as it matched her Korean descent while retaining the B initial from the much-loved book.
10. The Season 4 Easter Egg Dress

Nicola Coughlan’s dress at the masquerade ball in season four of Bridgerton was a personal tribute to the actress’s real-life fashion sense.

As beautiful as the Bridgerton home appears, it might surprise you to learn that the gorgeous purple wisteria flowers decorating the exterior are fake.
