As the film costs an estimated $700 million, Avengers: Doomsday must generate $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office to break even, making it a huge financial gamble for the studio.
It’s believed the film’s multiversal visual effects and huge salaries for Robert Downey Jr. and the Russo Brothers have contributed to the expensive budget.
2. The Russo Brothers Reportedly Signed an $80 Million Deal

Many Marvel fans were delighted when it was announced the Russo Brothers were returning to the directors’ chair for Avengers: Doomsday.
The creative duo previously directed a variety of iconic Marvel films, including Captain America: Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

6. Stephen McFeely’s Return Secured the Russo Brothers

The Russo Brothers reportedly only agreed to return as co-directors if Stephen McFeely wrote the scripts for the two-part movie arc.
As McFeely agreed to sign on as co-writer alongside Michael Waldron, the Russo Brothers returned to their directors’ chairs.

Marvel introduced a strict script protocol to prevent major plot leaks, which were huge issues for the studio during the Phase 4 and 5 projects.
For this reason, all actors received individual sides on encrypted, studio-issued tablets that expire after a set period, meaning they couldn’t access a full digital script.
In addition to increasing script security, Marvel required closed sets for all major plot twists, such as character deaths.
To keep the plot a closely guarded secret, some cast members shot multiple versions of a scene with only essential crew members to ensure they didn’t know the film’s outcome until its world premiere.
