1. Toy Story 5

UK Release Date: 19th June 2026

Toy Story 5 arrives in cinemas this summer, bringing another action-packed adventure for everyone’s favourite toys.

The fifth instalment follows the gang as they face their biggest threat: a tablet computer called Lilypad.

Also, Chaos ensues when 50 commemorative Buzz Lightyear figures become stuck in toy mode, and Woody returns to his friends after rescuing abandoned toys.

Jesse is expected to step into a leadership role in Toy Story 5, and many new toys join the group, including the toy hippo Atlas (voiced by Craig Robinson) and a hyperactive toy camera (voiced by Shelby Rabara).

    2. Hexed

UK Release Date: 27th November 2026

Hexed is scheduled for release in Disney’s traditional Thanksgiving window, often reserved for major animations, such as Frozen, Moana, and Encanto.

For this reason, you can expect great things from the coming-of-age fantasy film. It follows an awkward teenage boy whose clumsiness and unique personality often make him feel like an outsider.

However, he soon realises that the clumsiness that’s plagued his teenage years is due to suppressed magical powers.

Once he harnesses these abilities, the teen and his disciplined mum are suddenly pulled into a magical world.

Disney has already started building hype for Hexed’s release, as the three-eyed grinning creature from the upcoming film appeared in Zootropolis 2’s end credits.

    3. Ice Age 6: Boiling Point

UK Release Date: 5th February 2027

Ice Age 6: Boiling Point was a long time in the making, as Ice Age: Collision Course was the last film to have a theatrical release, arriving in cinemas in July 2026.

A sixth film was paused after The Walt Disney Company acquired 21st Century Fox in 2019. Following the studio merger, Disney likely spent time determining the film franchise’s future, especially as it shut down its primary studio, Blue Sky Studios.

As Ice Age: Collision Course experienced a dip in revenue and received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, Disney tested the film franchise’s popularity in 2022 with a Buck Wild spin-off and Scrat Tale shorts.

Following their success, Disney chose to move forward with a sixth Ice Age film. Originally planned for 2026, the film was pushed back due to a crowded release calendar to ensure the movie reaches its potential at the worldwide box office.

As Galen Tan Chu (Ice Age: Collision Course’s co-director) has returned to the director’s chair, it offers the film series’ synonymous style.

The film also moves on from the Big Freeze, as the characters face the challenges of a warmer Earth and melting glaciers. As a result, Manny, Sid, and Diego must lead an epic migration of animals in search of the “Everfrost,” a mythical hidden valley believed to remain cool year-round.

Of course, you can expect many appearances from Scrat as he attempts to keep hold of an acorn. As always, this results in an inevitable series of major blunders, including an underwater volcanic eruption that speeds up the melting process.

    4. Gatto

UK Release Date: 5th March 2027

Gatto marks a visual shift for Pixar. Director Enrico Casarosa’s goal is to reportedly make the film appear like a handmade, watercolour painting. However, it’s expected to retain Pixar’s 3D aesthetic and exceptional attention to detail.

The Disney movie follows Nero, a black cat, who is surrounded by people who are superstitious about black cats. As a result, most people think he either can’t swim or that he’s bad luck.

While Nero is busy attempting to pay off his debt to feline mob boss Rocco, he develops a friendship with May, a street musician, who makes him question if a life of crime is for him.

    5. Bluey: The Movie

UK Release Date: 6th August 2027

Kids (and adults) will be thrilled to learn that Bluey: The Movie arrives on the silver screen on 6th August 2027 in the UK and worldwide.

The film moves away from its 2D style. It reportedly offers a full CG (3D) animation to provide fans with a more cinematic experience. It’ll prevent the film from feeling like a long episode of the beloved Australian show.

However, there’s no reason to worry that the flick will appear too different from the animated series. The characters will look and sound the same but have more texture and detail.

Bluey’s creator, Joe Brumm, who’s also the writer and director of Bluey: The Movie, is keeping the plot a top secret. Rumour has it that the Heelers will embark on an international adventure.

It will, however, be Brumm’s last time as Bluey’s creative lead. He recently announced that Bluey: The Movie is his final project. As his daughters, who inspired the show, are now teenagers, he feels he has no more little kid stories left to tell.

The good news is that the show is likely to live on without him for many seasons and even films to come.

Bluey: The Movie also makes Disney history, as it marks the first theatrical animated film of a non-Disney TV show distributed by the studio since Doug’s 1st Movie (1999).

    6. The Simpsons Movie 2

UK Release Date: 23rd July 2027

The Simpsons Movie 2 is scheduled for release on 23rd July 2027, exactly 20 years since the first film arrived in cinemas in 2007.

Disney appears to have high hopes for the movie, as it pushed back an “Untitled Marvel” project for The Simpsons Movie 2’s release. For this reason, you can expect it to become one of the biggest films of summer 2027.

Matt Groening, The Simpsons’ creator, and the show’s long-term showrunners, James L. Brooks and Al Jean, greenlit a second film after finally finding a script that “felt like a movie” over a long episode.

The creative team was reluctant to create a second film for many years, as Groening stated the staff had to produce the film alongside a weekly TV show with no B team. To help combat the issue, Disney granted production additional time and resources to create a second theatrical film.

The Simpsons Movie 2’s plot has yet to be revealed, but rumour has it that the family will travel internationally.

    7. Frozen III

UK Release Date: 26th November 2027

Frozen III arrives in cinemas across the UK on 26th November 2027, two days after its US release date.

It marks the start of an epic two-part saga, as Arendelle and the Enchanted Forest are threatened by a brand-new villain: a Viking-like figure.

According to Josh Gad, who plays Olaf, Frozen III offers “the grandest” story from the film series so far.

As the story also is split between two films, fans can expect the third instalment to end on a superb cliffhanger. It’s sure to boost hype for Frozen IV, which hasn’t received an official release date from Disney.

When discussing the upcoming film in 2023, Jennifer Lee commented, “Bob Iger himself leaked it… It looks like it’s going to be two films because it’s so big where they’re going next. Elsa’s got a lot to do.”

Frozen III will also allow fans to watch Anna in her new role as Queen of Arendelle and Elsa as the Protector of the Enchanted Forest.

It’s thought the new villain poses a threat to Elsa’s magic, which will likely take the duo, as well as Olaf, Kristoff, and Sven, on a brand-new adventure.

The film was originally expected to arrive in cinemas in 2026, but Jennifer Lee, Frozen’s writer and co-director, stated the release date was pushed back to perfect the two-part saga.

    8. The Incredibles 3

UK Release Date: 16th June 2028 (TBC)

The Incredibles 3 will add an extra dose of fun to school holidays. It’s scheduled for release on 16th June 2028 in the UK.

It will arrive exactly 10 years after The Incredibles 2 and 24 years after The Incredibles appeared in cinemas.

The third film from the animated franchise is reportedly Pixar’s most expensive film to date. It’s believed the large budget is due to the movie’s outstanding detail and action sequences.

As you probably expected, The Incredibles 3’s plot is under wraps, but rumour has it that it may offer a superhero detective story, which might be led by Violet and Dash as they approach adulthood.

Brad Bird, who wrote and directed the first two films, returned to pen the screenplay. Peter Sohn, best known for The Good Dinosaur and Elemental, also serves as the director of The Incredibles 3.

    9. Coco 2

UK Release Date: 23rd November 2029

In March 2025, Disney delighted fans worldwide by announcing Coco 2 will arrive in cinemas in 2029.

The second instalment is scheduled to hit UK cinemas on 23rd November 2029, two days after its US release date.

The duo behind Coco has returned to direct Coco 2, ensuring it retains its cinematic style. Pixar is also reportedly busy working with various Mexican musicians to create the soundtrack.

The plot is currently a secret, but it’s believed the film picks up 12 years after the original, following Miguel into adulthood. One thing is certain: it’ll be worth the wait!

It’s important to note that the above release dates are subject to change. However, we aim to regularly update the above to ensure you never miss a fantastic film. Also, other untitled Disney projects are scheduled for release.
